The Licking Heights Local School district is a rapidly growing diverse community located approximately 20 minutes east of Columbus. Licking Heights is one of the four fastest growing school districts in Ohio, and a leader in the area of academics. With a diverse student population speaking more than 30 languages, the district focuses on student learning and achievement while looking toward the future as it continues to be recognized as a leader in innovative best practice.

The Pataskala Police Division is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and protecting all of our citizens. They work in conjunction will all other departments and segments of the government and public to create a safer, more peaceful environment for all. Our service can be accessed by all citizens, with a special focus on solving real and perceived problems within the community. We utilize resources and leverage relationships with all levels of government to accomplish a shared goal of security and tranquility within the City.

The library was founded in August, 1937, in a room in the Pataskala Town Hall. By April 1938, the library was legally organized as a school district library, and received $400 in operating funds from Licking County. By May 1939, the library had 792 borrowers, and was averaging 24 new borrowers per month. The library dedicated the building at its present location in 1969. In 2010, the location went through an extensive six-month renovation while the library operated out of a temporary location at 360 E. Broad. The new library reopened in May 2011.

The District began operations in 1953, after voters approved a consolidation of the Etna, Kirkersville, and Pataskala school districts. Fully operational by 1954, it was the first district of its type in Licking County. Named for Dr. C.D. Watkins, a beloved physician in the Southwest Licking area, the new Watkins Memorial High School opened in 1955.

The Pataskala branch of the US Postal Service is in a central location near the center of the city. This is a full-service location, staffed during regular post office hours, and offer post office boxes, package shipping, postage purchase, passport services, and mail pickup.

The Pataskala Post is a community newspaper with circulation of more than 11,000, delivered to Pataskala and surrounding communities Summit Station, Reynoldsburg, Outville, Etna, Kirkersville, and Jersey. Part of Heartland Communications, a Licking County-based publisher of weekly newspapers. They also operate a commercial print shop who can handle commercial printing needs.
