DorMar Heating & Air Conditioning is a leading provider of heating/cooling services, appliance repair, and draining cleaning/light plumbing in Newark, Ohio. We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our team and help us manage our accounts receivable.
Responsibilities:
- Contact customers with overdue accounts to discuss payment options and collect outstanding balances
- Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers who are unable to pay in full
- Document all collection efforts and maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment history
- Work closely with our billing department to resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes
- Keep up-to-date on applicable laws and regulations related to debt collection
- Participate in training sessions and ongoing education to stay current with best practices in collections

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
- 2+ years of experience in debt collections, preferably in the HVAC industry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations with customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software
- Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
